We take special care to ensure that we provide an enabling environment for learning for all grades. We plan to continue renovations and the construction of new buildings in order to provide even more services to our children.
Baring in mind that a healthy body is a healthy mind, we encourage all students to participate in at least one or two sports. We compete as a school at both provincial and national levels.
In addition to traditional learning and sports, the school also has avid "artists" among the student body. Public Speaking, Debates, Drama and Revue are all very popular at CBS!
Our small class sizes mean that our teachers can spend more time assisting each student and identifying challenges and areas of learning that might require more attention.
The School also has a Science Lab where all Science Experiments are practically displayed to learners. Experiments undertaken in the lab are always a blast at Castle Bridge School!
We are an English Medium School and also offer Sesotho and Afrikaans as First Additional options to choose from. Our poetry
The school governing body has also worked hard to hire, develop and retain excellent teachers. Professional development is encouraged to ensure that the school changes with the changing times.
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"! The school therefore takes special care to ensure there is a healthy balance of solid academic work versus a fair amount of extra curricula activities.
Students also benefit from the two comprehensive computer labs and a media centre where Computer Appliance Technology is taught in addition to other IT literacy programmes.
The school Poetry club has a few compiled books of original CBS learners written poetry. The Poetry club is recognised by the Department of Arts and Culture.
Our staff works extremely hard, this can be seen with our national results. We have teachers awarded by the province for attaining position 3 in the Free State, high matric results averages recognised by The Department of Basic Education: Free State Province.
Our sports are as active as our academics. Soccer: we have learners playing for the Free State Central League. Athletics: We have learners who are South African Champions for 100M and 200M U/15. Rugby: We have learners playing in Ihqhawe, Rugby Free State Academy and Kiewiete Free State Team.
Our School head boy was nominated to be the District deputy head boy for Bloemfontein Schools. Congratulations to him on this achievement and we wish him every success in the future.
